REFERENCE SERVICES, INC JOINS THE COALITION OF CONSTRUCTION SAFETY AS A THIRD-PARTY ADMINISTRATOR FOR THEIR SUBSTANCE ABUSE PROGRAM
EVANSVILLE, IN, 05/15/2023 – Reference Services, Inc is happy to announce a new third-party administrators partnership with the Coalition for Construction Safety (CCS).
The use of alcohol and other drugs leads to unsafe working conditions for those on construction and contractor maintenance jobsites. Impaired individuals are a potential hazard to themselves and to those working with them.
The purpose of the CCS model Substance Abuse Program is to provide a tool for contractors to establish and maintain a safe and healthy work environment, free from drugs and alcohol.
Therefore, it is recommended that CCS members implement, publish, maintain, and enforce a contractor substance abuse policy which includes prohibiting the unlawful use, possession, consumption, manufacture, distribution, and sale of controlled substances in the work place that meets or exceeds the guidelines presented by CCS. All bid and contract documents should contain and adhere to the same stringent guidelines.
Through the TPA, Coalition members will be able to work with RSI to order compliant drug test, have results entered in the CCS database and obtain the CCS ID Card after a negative test result.
CCS member employers across the construction industry require that all employees obtain their CCS Card before ever showing up on the jobsite. With this card comes the requirement that the employee has submitted to and passed an annual drug test that meets or exceeds DOT requirements.
