FACIS (Fraud and Abuse Control Information Systems)

FACIS is a search of a vast database containing adverse actions of individuals and entities sanctioned in the healthcare field. This includes information on disciplinary actions ranging from exclusions and debarments to letters of reprimand and probation. This search offers three search options ranging from the minimum federal requirements to a search inclusive of more than 800 sources in 50 states.

FACIS® Level 1 meets the federal government’s minimum requirements as outlined in the OIG’s Compliance Program Guidance and includes: OIG, GSA, DEA, FDA, PHS, ORI, TRICARE and OFAC-SDN data (federal only) and Medicare Opt-Out.

• Patriot Search – included in our Nationwide Criminal Search
  • The Patriot search will go through all of our Patriot sources, including all of the MedEx Plus FACIS Level 1 jurisdictions including the terrorist watchlists, FBI / OIG / DEA / DHS most wanted, OFAC sources, etc.

• MedEx Data – FACIS 1M and 3
  • The MedEx will limit the sources to only those like the HHS OIG LEIE, System for Award Management HHS entries, FDA Clinical Researchers, and a handful of others like the PHS, Tricare, States Medicaid and Board Actions list.
